Early Black Friday Sales+Old Navy Try On

Do you all go Black Friday Shopping? As much as I love shopping, I’ve never been one to get up early and hit the sales. Now its so easy to just do it all online in the coziness of home! and better yet, there are several stores that are throwing some early sales out!

This is the last week of the Gratitude Giving Challenge. At first I was a little embarrassed that I was planning on posting an early Black Friday Sale overview being that this week the focus is on thankfulness for all the physical blessings that we have. However, the point of this week’s gratitude challenge is not to make you feel guilty about buying things- it’s to posture your heart towards gratitude for what you have and perhaps inspire you to give back. The reality is that we live in this tension with God’s call to be good stewards of our resources, yet also there’s just the nature of this time of the year which is so bent on good sales and gift giving.

I truly think we can find a balance in having a heart of Gratitude over our physical blessings and finding joy in a good shopping deal.

So before we begin, let’s pause and remember together, all that physical blessings we have.

I am thankful for a warm home and for hot water. For an overabundance of clothing. Thank you, Lord, for blankets. For a bath and toilet. I give thanks for the pretty decor around my home. And I’m so thankful for this laptop and my guitar. I am thankful for my car. For a washer and dryer. For pretty smelling candles and books to read. I give thanks for our TV and way too many shoes. For makeup and for baby clothes. For toys and house plants. I am thankful to have not one, but several copies of God’s Word.

Go ahead and just start listing. It’s amazing what a perspective shift it brings. Now that you know how much you have, move ahead towards those sales with a grateful heart and lots of joy!
