Earlier this week I posted a HUGE list of all the products I use to achieve a glam makeup look. Read Part one here!
I got some great feedback from you (P.S. I love hearing from you, darling reader!) with some questions about how to do different parts of this look.
I’m limited to simply typing out my routine, but there are so many wonderful makeup tutorials on youtube. Take some time to look some up and practice. That’s how I learned (and continue to learn) to do my makeup!
Glam Makeup routine:
To achieve this look, I start off with a freshly washed face, add lotion and then a small amount of primer. Then I dab on foundation all over my face and blend in with my beauty blender, bringing some to my neck to make it really blend well.
Conceal and contour

this is similar to how I contour!
First off, with the variety of face shapes there are different features each individual will want to highlight/draw less attention to. This is what works for me, but you might need to adjust for your needs! Head over to my pinterest to see a face shape contour chart!
I add concealer under my eyes (a big triangle down the side of my nose up to the outer corner of my eyes. Then I draw a thin line of concealer down the center of my nose. I use the dark side of the contour stick to contour the bridge of my nose, the hollows of my cheek, my forehead near my hairline, and along my jawline. Blending everything really well with a beauty blender!
tip: I saw a tutorial recently that said to bring the concealer up along the side of the nose a bit to help give an illusion of a smaller nose!
I do a quick once over with the Covergirl powder using a big brush to set everything. Then I use a dry sponge to dab the maybelline powder under my eyes to really set the concealer and keep my eyes bright. Darker skin tones might want to try a different setting powder, this can appear to white/chalky if you’re not careful!
Eyebrows

Not my brows! 😉 but a similar step by step to what I do!
Next I move on to the eye brows: I use the NYX pencil to line along the top and bottom of my brow. I fill in the rest of my brows with the revlon powder.
Eyes

This is pretty similar to what I did!
For this glam look, I went with a quad kit for my eye shadow. I used a brush to apply the medium color over the whole lid (all over-up to the brow), and the lightest shade to highlight under the arch of my eyebrow. I blended the second darkest shade over my lid, and put the darkest shade in the crease/outer edge. To make it really pop, I dabbed some concealer on the center of my lid and added the lightest shade on top. Then I sort of blend it all together lightly to soften everything. (Depending on your eye shape, you can put the highlight near your tear ducts rather than the center)
I LOVE the NYX eyeliner for the top lash line. It’s dramatic and easy to use! I smudge a bit of the darkest shadow in the outer edge of my lower lash line and add mascara. (Typically, I don’t line my lower lashes because it looks too heavy for my eyes). I add the fake lashes and the eyes are all done!
Tip: Let the lash glue dry a bit before you apply. Tilt your makeup mirror back so that you are leaning down over it. It helps place the fake lashes super close to your real lashes.
Finishing touches
I use a small brush to brush off the excess setting powder from under my eyes. (yes, i leave it on that long!) Then I use a contour brush to add some extra powder contour to my cheekbones and hairline. I use a smaller angled brush to lightly dust the powder contour over the sides of my nose (careful, you can overdo it on this part!). Then I add blush and blend my cheekbones really well with a big brush. For an extra bit of glam, I add some highlighter down the center of my nose, lightly at the cupids bow of my top lip and high up on my cheekbones.
Finally, I add some lip color- the NYX color in this look is a super fun red holiday red! I spray my entire face with setting spray and I’m good to go! ‘
