A New Season

I am convinced that so much of life is learning to live fully in the midst of waiting.

Some of those seasons of waiting are incredibly hard– God pruning and shaping you into his image in the midst of the hard and broken. It’s long, slow, and lonely, like searching for a sign of Spring after the cold of winter. In actuality, the season might be short, but in the thick of it, it always seems unending.

Other seasons of waiting are more like joyful anticipation. Daily leaning in to the hope and promise of what is to come and reveling in the bountiful blessings and changes.

And so we welcome this new season of waiting…

Ryan and I are expecting a Darling Little in April 2018!

We are absolutely delighted! I still get teary (hello, hormones) just thinking of the many people that have been praying alongside us in that small but hard season of waiting for this beautiful gift. And now, to celebrate in anticipation, as God knits this darling one in my womb is humbling, overwhelming, and so wonderful.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.  Psalm 139: 13-16
