It’s hard to believe that I’m over half way through my pregnancy! Time flies! Here’s a little bump photo progression so far! It’s funny looking back at how I totally felt like I was “showing” at 7 weeks.
Last week we had a wonderful (and emotional) ultrasound. It loooks like Baby is healthy and growing, praise the Lord! Before I get into the gender reveal, many of you have been so sweet in asking about how the
pregnancy is going! So here are more details than you probably care to know!
Bump update:
Health:
I’ve been feeling really good throughout this second trimester, (first trimester was nothing to complain about either, just the usual nausea and fatigue. I’m glad it’s passed though!) Other than some typical back pain, I’m so thankful and humbled that baby is carrying so easily! Baby is very active these days. Dad gets so excited when he can feel a kick!
Fitness:
Like I said before, since I’ve been feeling so well lately, getting to the gym has been much less of a chore this trimester. Even when I wasn’t feeling great, I still tried my best to at least continue with my gym schedule (4 times a week) and adjust/modify as needed. Thus far, I feel best (and sleep best) when I’ve worked out. The most important thing I’ve learned is the importance of listening to my body. Some days, I’m able to hit that cardio hard and others I stick to walking and weight training. Any fitness tips for this pregnant mama? Especially as this bump starts to get in the way?
It’s been a real heart and mind adjustment to embrace and accept my changing body and not freak out as the scale tips higher and higher, knowing that I need to gain healthy weight for baby to grow and thrive! I’ve had lots of conflicting emotions on this- I’ll be sharing more on this soon!
Fashion:
I’m slowly growing out of my “normal” clothes and graduating to maternity wear. Ironically, I have only bought one maternity top so far for this pregnancy. I was blessed to have some very generous and stylish sisters and friends who have let me use their maternity clothing. This has saved SO much money- I’m truly thankful. It’s frustrating to spend a fortune on maternity clothes when you don’t wear them very long!
A few miscellaneous Products I’ve loved throughout my pregnancy:
The Belly Book-This is such a great interactive journal! It’s split up by trimester, with fun writing prompts about all facets of the pregnancy (the good, the bad, and the ugly), places to put ultrasound pictures and bump photos, as well as details from doctors appointments and so much more! I’d highly recommend. Graphically, to me it isn’t as cute as some other bump journals I looked into, but as far as content goes, this is the best! My sister kept a “belly book” throughout her pregnancies and it’s been so cool to go back and read through them!
Bio Oil– to help moisturize my growing belly! It also helps keep some of the itchiness from dry skin away, and hopefully it will prevent some stretch marks. We’ll see!
Self Tanner– It’s just nice to feel bronzed and pampered during your pregnancy and a little color goes a long way! (why do you always feel more toned when you’re tan?) Read about my self tanning routine here!
Pregnancy products I have my eye on for the future:
Belly Bandit– for post pregnancy. Leave me a comment if you’ve used it or something similar, and how you liked it!
pregnancy bump pillow– as this bump gets bigger, this might be a lifesaver! I haven’t done a ton of looking or research on which specific pillow i’d like, so the one linked is just an idea. Has anyone else used a pregnancy pillow? Is it worth it?
So… Without stalling any longer, I’m seriously just bursting to tell you:
We have some exciting news to reveal!

What?! YAY! I’m still in shock! We are so excited and surprised to be having a darling girl! Now to go buy all of the frilly dresses and bows!
