Nursery Reveal + Newborn Photoshoot

So I’m pretty much swooning over these adorable pictures from Rachel Joy Photography… This dear soul has been behind the camera for some big events in my life: Our engagement and wedding! Rachel and her sweet son stopped over to visit and meet Olivia and graciously took a few photos of us!

It’s hard to believe that Olivia is 3 weeks old. Time is already going by way to quickly for me and I’m desperately trying to soak in every moment. I’m continuing to heal and feeling better every day. Olivia is a happy, growing girl who loves her sleep!

Now on to the nursery:

I’m linking everything at the bottom of this post! Be prepared, it’s mostly Hobby Lobby and Ikea finds. Budget friendly decor for the win! I wanted to do gender neutral colors on the wall. I went with a really light tan and a bold dark navy as an accent wall. We painted this room from top to bottom: Ceiling, walls, and our wood trim (we’re slowly painting all the trim in the house white). It’s amazing how a fresh coat of paint can completely change a room!

I went with soft pink accents in the decor to add girly touches to the space. I’m obsessed with the white foam flowers against that navy wall! The wall signs were gifts from my mom. She cleverly used them as the decor for the baby shower, and then gifted them to me afterwards! Such a thoughtful and practical idea. The nursery is filled with hand me downs from cousins and gifts from family and friends, (some even handmade)! Those sentimental touches make even more of a special space to us.
