To the Moms who keep us grounded + free Mothers Day Card Printable

There’s just something about picking up that dishtowel to help dry while she’s elbow deep in soapy water after a meal shared… And entering into the familiar hum of conversation about your week, your workouts, the meal planning, the latest craft project, and the how this and that went. It’s the simple act of being with mom in the familiar and ordinary that brings you right back to what’s real and important.

Mothers have a way of keeping us grounded, don’t they?

…grounding us to all that is good, true, and right. Motherhood can be such a thankless and never ending job, but mom’s out there, keep loving and pressing in, even when it’s hard and exhausting. We see you. We appreciate you. You are more than enough.

And we want to pause for a moment and say to you, moms who:

draw us in and breathe strength and encouragement when our hearts are weary and uncertain,

push us when you know we can go further, do better, or accomplish more,

compel us to do better with just a disappointed glance when we slip up and act prideful or unkind,

fiercely fight for us, when we need you most,

teach us some of life’s biggest lessons, in the midst of the laundry, errands, scraped knees, and spilled milk,

and provide structure, boundaries, and accountability to mold us into responsible, productive adults.

Thank you. Truly, Thank you for creating a home that is safe and warm and inviting.

My mother, my mother-in-law, friends and sisters who are moms, and mentors do all of this with such grace, strength and beauty. I only hope to someday follow their example in motherhood.
